I am happy to say that MyCar Locator Free has become quite popular on the Android Market! Since its release about 2 months ago it has been downloaded 50,000 times. I believe this illustrates the popularity of free vs. paid apps, with the paid version of MyCar Locator receiving only about 1500 downloads since its release almost 9 months ago. While this may seem like a bad thing for developers, I see it another way. Offering free versions of apps allows me to make software available for a larger number of users, and therefore receive much more user-input, which allows an app to adapt to user needs much quicker. Also, with in-app advertisements, MyCar Locator is making nearly as much profit as the paid version in only about a quarter of the time. Considering this, I look forward to making many more free apps in the future and believe that most developers will do the same.
